Preventative
Exam/Cleaning: A periodic oral exam and cleaning is the key to maintaining oral health. At our practice, you will meet one of our four hygienists who will take care of making the x-rays that are appropriate for you prior to cleaning your teeth. They will provide tips and techniques to improve your home care while cleaning your teeth with a gentle touch. Then, one of our doctors will examine your head and neck, review your x-rays, and walk you through the details of any issues they find with your teeth. We will answer any questions you have and provide you with all of your options. If you would like a second or even third opinion, we have three dentists who are more than happy to speak with you!
Sealants: A well-placed sealant prevents cavities from forming on the chewing surface of our younger patients. This pain-free treatment bonds a small white filling material in the deep pits and fissures of the back teeth.
Bite Splints: A well-made bite splint or night guard can help you by preventing damage to the dental work you already have and/or preventing night-time grinding (known as bruxism). Our dentists will evaluate you at your exam and cleaning appointment and make recommendations for this treatment on an individual basis.
Mouth Guards: A custom made mouth guard functions to protect the teeth from trauma associated with sports and activities. They can be made to esthetically suit any athlete!
Restorative
Direct Restorations: A treatment option to replace decayed or broken parts of the tooth. Over the years many materials have been used, but at this time we place amalgam (silver) or composite resin (white) fillings. Our dentists will make a recommendation of what to use with each individual case, but the decision is ultimately up to you. Completed in one appointment by the dentist, this usually is one of the first steps in restoring a patient’s mouth to health.
Crowns: A crown is dental restoration that covers the entire tooth, functions to prevent tooth fractures, and replaces what has been lost due to old fillings and decay. This is a two-appointment procedure where an impression is made of your tooth for a dental laboratory to fabricate the restoration. It is cemented into place at a second appointment.
Bridges: A bridge is a complex dental restoration that utilizes remaining teeth to permanently replace one or more teeth. The teeth used to hold the restoration in place are prepared much like a crown, and the bridge is cemented into place at the second appointment.
Implant Restorations: An implant is a titanium screw that is placed in a patient’s bone to take the place of a missing tooth. After the site heals, we place a crown on the top that functions much like the missing tooth. At our office, we do not currently place the implants in the bone (we refer you to one of our trusted specialists in the area), but we do finish the implant treatment with the necessary restoration.
Dentures: A denture is a removable device that functions to replace missing teeth in order to return the patient to normal looks and function. There are several types that we provide for our patients. Options range from single tooth replacements to complete dentures that replace all of the missing teeth in the top or bottom jaw. Our dentists will work with you to develop a treatment plan that best suits your mouth.
Emergency
We believe that none of our patients should have to suffer from dental pain. It is our policy to see all patients that are in pain as soon as possible. Please call our office and we will do our best to fit you in the same day!
Root Canals: A root canal is a procedure that cleans, disinfects, and seals the area where the nerve used to be in a tooth. Usually, this procedure is needed because of an infection in the tooth or in the presence of pain, but it can be necessary for other reasons. In order to keep your teeth healthy, our dentists will explain your specific condition and all treatment options.
Extractions: Despite our desire to save all of your teeth, we realize that not every tooth can be fixed. Our doctors will evaluate all of your teeth, discuss risks, benefits, and complications with you, and if a tooth needs to be removed for one reason or another, we can take care of you here.
Oral Trauma: Accidents will happen, and when they do to the face and mouth, it can be very scary. Please contact our clinic immediately and we will help you as soon as possible!
Cosmetic
Veneers: A veneer is a covering of a tooth for the purpose of improving the esthetics. These can be completed several ways. Our dentists are happy to see you for an evaluation to discuss which treatment option is best to improve your smile.
Icon Treatment: A very frustrating result after the completion of braces on children and young adults are the white spots that are left on the front teeth. Icon is a product that can improve the esthetics of the spots in a pain-free, minimally invasive way. Dr. Matt can explain more about this to you.
Professional Whitening: If you are not happy with the color of your teeth, please let us know. We can discuss your options and work with you to whiten your smile in a controlled and safe way.
Pediatrics
We couldn’t claim to be a family dental clinic without seeing the youngest members of your family! Dr. Matt and Dr. Wes are more than happy to help your children!
Periodontal Therapy
Scaling and Root Planing: In many cases, routine cleaning isn’t enough to control periodontal disease in our patient population. At your exam with us, your dentist and hygienist will work together to develop a diagnosis and course of action that will bring you back to health. This often starts with scaling and root planing, also known as a deep cleaning. Our hygienist will make you comfortable with anesthetic, then clean the root surfaces of the teeth that you are not able to maintain with basic home care.
Additional Services
Nitrous Oxide: In some cases, dental anxiety can be improved with the use of nitrous oxide (laughing gas). When we first meet you, we will discuss things that can make you more comfortable while you’re with us. This is one option we offer for you.
If we don’t offer the dental services you need, we’ll be happy to refer you to a qualified specialist.
We do dentistry right!
